Los Chorradores is a short hiking route with a series of waterfalls, located just outside of the town of Navarrés, heading towards Quesa.
It is a very pretty route which runs alongside the river, encompassing various water features: pools, streams, waterfalls, cascades, natural springs and a dam.
The biggest, more well-known waterfall, is 25 metres high. However, there is another fairly big waterfall quite close to the secret carpark.
If you want to visit more waterfalls in the Costa Blanca, you can jump in and swim, or hike and explore at these 8 places to swim in waterfalls.
The Los Chorradores area begins at the main road, and ends at a picnic area.
It is a linear route about 3km long and takes about 30 minutes to walk.
However, there are some small detours you can take to explore, making it more interesting, and more circular.
Therefore, you could spend at least an hour here, or longer if you decide to relax, explore or have a picnic.
Los Chorradores is part of the “La Canal” municipality, which is also home to other short hikes to waterfalls, including the Ruta de las 3 Cascadas, and the Salto de Chella.

Recommended gear for hiking:
Military backpack (up to 45L)
Waterproof with several compartments
(10 colours available)
This Los Chorradores route is largely an easy hike on flat ground.
However, there is a steep section with steps and a rope handrail, in order to ascend from the main carpark into the natural area.
The Los Chorradores route is suitable for:

Waterfall
If you want to ensure that the big waterfall is visible, then it is definitely better to visit this area after some rain, even if it has rained just a little.
I visited Los Chorradores twice in August. The first time (after a storm nearby) the waterfall was very impressive. However, two days later I returned and it was gone!
Waterfall season is between October and May), so that time would be ideal., but not essential.
Swimming
Summer is the best time to visit if you want to swim in the pool of the Los Chorradores waterfall, since the water is cold.
Therefore, if you want to swim and see lots of water falling, I recommend that you visit the Los Chorradores waterfalls early in the summer, or as soon as the rain starts towards the end of summer.
Main carpark
To do the Los Chorradores hiking route, you can park in the official carpark here, just off the main road.
The carpark is very obvious, because there is a massive noticeboard displaying photos of what you will see.
However, in July and August, you need to pay in order to park and enter from here.

*This isn´t my route, but it looks very similar to my visit in August 2024.
You can, however, see all of the Wild Child Costa Blanca routes here.

The path down to the natural area is located to the left of the vehicle entrance (as you enter).
Recommended gear for wild swimming:
Neoprene Swimsuit
Closed neck and hem designed to prevent chafing
Descend from the carpark
The path begins as a slope, and then as it turns to the right, there are steps to walk down (with a long rope “handrail” to hold onto, on the left),
The steps descending from the main carpark can be completely avoided if you use the secret parking, resulting in a flat route that is more accessible.
“Fuente Clara” (natural spring)
After about 10 minutes, you will reach Fuente Clara on the left. This translates to “clear spring”.
This is a natural spring, where the water trickles down through the ferns hanging above, creating a curtain of water over the cave behind.
The cave is covered is lush vegetation, and is big enough for you to step inside and be at one with nature.
Main “Los Chorradores” waterfall
The main Los Chorradores waterfall. This is a 25-metre high waterfall in beautiful surroundings.
Below it is a turquoise pool that you can swim in during the hotter months.
“Los Chorradores” waterfall viewing points
Water tunnel
Quite close to the main Los Chorradores waterfall, there is a hidden water tunnel, but you have to go off the path to find it:
River walk
There is a flat wide walking track which follows the river/stream, crossing over it several times on wooden footbridges or stepping stones.
This natural environment here really is delightful!
“Azud de la Badina Migas” (dam)
The Azud de la Badina Migas is a dam on a wider part of the river.
It is pretty from both sides of the river, and you can see it from the other side if you take a more circular route.
Second waterfall
The second notable waterfall is located here (although there are several smaller cascades along the route).
When there is a lot of water, you can scramble and swim in here.
“Merendero” (Picnic ares)
At the end of the area, there is a Merendero, which is a picnic area with picnic benches.
“Fuente de la Higuera” (natural spring)
Fuente de la Higuera translates to “Fig spring”, and is a natural spring near the end of the route.
This is different to Fuente Clara, because it is enclosed by an artifically constructed building.
There is a metal gate blocking access, but make sure you look inside to see the crystal-clear water. It is quite a sight!
Cave
After the Fuente de la Higuera, there is a hidden cave, which is located approximately here.
After the cave you can continue walking to make the route more circular.

There are two alternatives to this Los Chorradores hiking route:
Secret carpark
There is another lesser-known carpark located here.
How to get there
The satnav/GPS does not recognise the correct driving route to this carpark!
Instead it directs you down a different nearby road, that doesn´t actually lead you the carpark, either by car or on foot! So, do not follow any alternative routes!
To access this car park, you must turn off the main road here and drive straight ahead on the track.
Recommended gear for hiking:
MAMMUT Outdoor Zip Off Pants
Durable, comfortable and fast-drying
Secret carpark layout
This carpark is divided into two areas:
However, this doesn´t necessarily apply to wheelchair users
Wheelchair access
Despite the wheelchair logo on the cabin, the route from here to the main waterfall is not wheelchair accessible.
A wheelchair is not able to access the full route, because there is a section with stepping stones to cross a stream, as well as a few wooden footbridges to pass over.
However, wheelchairs can access the picnic area.
Alternative starting point
In some ways, starting the route at the secret carpark is better because:
Whereas visitors accessing via the main carpark may be less inclined to continue walking once they have seen it. This what happened with my friend during our first visit). However, I returned alone soon afterwards to see the whole area and I´m glad that I did.
More circular route
The hiking route is technically circular, but a lot of the route is actually on the same path.
However, there are a few small detours that you could make to make the Los Chorradores route more circular…
You can walk this way, and through the field, back to the secret carpark.
Extended hiking route
From this area, you can hike to the “Embalse de Escalona” reservoir.
To access this route, take a left at the picnic area and cross the stream.
This is at least 1.6km each way and involves a big descent down to the reservoir, which you then need to ascend again to return. Therefore, I would not recommend this on a hot summer day.
The Los Chorradores waterfalls are great for adventurers!
Swimming
In August 2024, the only place that was really suitable for swimming was below the main Los Chorradores waterfall. The water is turquoise and very inviting!
However, when there is more water, it is possibIe to enter the pool and bathe below the second waterfall (e.g. in summer 2023).
Cliff Jumping
It might be possible to jump into the main Los Chorradores waterfall from a rock to the right, when there is more water. However, when I visited there wasn´t enough water to do this.
Scrambling
The area below the second waterfall is very rocky, and you can scramble up the rocks to get behind the waterfall.
Booking is not required to visit the Los Chorradres waterfalls.
However, you may need to pay.
During July and August, during the day, you need to pay to visit Los Chorradores waterfalls from the main carpark.
The cost is 3€ per car (various prices are listed on an information board in the car park).
3€ seems to be the standard cost, as it is the same price to enter Gorgo de la Escalera, which is great if you like waterfalls or cliff jumping (although that is avoidable too if you are adventurous!)
However, this cost can be avoided if you use the secret carpark.
We visited at 6pm on a Friday in August and there were no staff there.
I visited again at 10am on a Sunday in August, and the cabin was closed.
Nope. Go and enjoy the Los Chorradores waterfalls.
